For certain things we need different colors in Excel cells, for example in reports, which need to be a sign to us what things should be a concern, and save time for work that must be considered.
The thing we usually do is manually describe the conditions that we need to remember. How to spend time and spend some cells that should be a concern, escapes from the manual coloring.
The following describes how to draw superior automatic cells by applying RULE.
The following example is applied to STOCK DATA items, with the need to pay attention to the most depleted stock. Intended to make it easier for us to make a decision to ask for shares and win stocks that have been depleted.
If you have data like the image below
Then in the STOCK WARNING column, it needs to be colored so that it is more of our concern.
The trick is:
Highlight the STOCK WARNING column that we will apply RULE (coloring condition). Then click CONDITIONAL FORMATTING and click NEW RULES. Next, a NEW FORMATTING RULE window will appear, click USE A FORMULA TO DETERMINE WHICH CELLS TO FORMAT. Fill with: = OR (I3 = "OUT OF STOCK")
With explanation:
I3 is the beginning of the cell we will color, if the cell has OUT OF STOCK, the coloring condition will be applied.
Then click FORMAT
Click BOLD ITALIC, click RED, and click OK
Click OK in the NEW FORMATTING RULE window
See the results
